Robert Lee Sendell

SAVANNAH - Robert Lee Sendell, 81, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born January 19, 1932 on Long Island, NY, Mr. Sendell served four years in the United States Air Force and was a volunteer fireman on Long Island, NY. He worked with Grumman American in New York retiring from Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Gulfstream Retirees Club, the Shriners, and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and mechanics, and had a motor home that he and his wife enjoyed travelling in.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Jo Sendell; three children, Linda Sendell Vick and her husband, Ralph Vick, Bobbie Sendell Faris and her husband, Larry Faris; and Jon Sendell and his wife, Debbie Sendell; 5 grandchildren, Kelly Vick Ashley, Steven Vick Jessie, Haley Faris, Brooke Sendell, and Shannon Sendell; 2 great-grandchildren, Hunter Vick and Shelby Vick; a brother, Bill Sendell Chrisof Long Island, and their children, Patty Gaydos, Laura Gaydos, and Billy Sendell. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Sendell and Norman Sendell.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in the Hodgson Chapel of
Fox & Weeks.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
